Yesterday was our last Japanese lesson for the year.
I would like to thank Beth for her outstanding work with our students, who have all enjoyed the program so much.

Principal

The fabulous sushi, Miso soup and fruit were prepared by Beth Matsuto, Janelle Percy and Vanessa Thomas.
Other special guests throughout the day were students from Kingscliff High School and Heather, a teacher who gave up a day's leave to come and lead the activities. Oxley Class students made some beautiful cherry blossom trees which were a feature in our Japanese palace.

Japan Day - 2009

We had a fantastic Japan Day. The students were excited to participate in a range of activities such as: an exquisite Tea Ceremony; origami; Japanese Dancing, Greeting the Emperoror (Jack) and Empress (Emma); sumo wrestling, and the display put on by the Dragonflies. They witnessed Ken Matsuto referee demonstration sumo matches and dined on the delicious Teriyaki Chicken and Japanese pancakes.
