Ms. Buchanan held everyone's attention as she   recounted some of her life experiences, on and off the   hockey field, and the importance of "Initiative" in life.
  Ms Buchanan praised the initiative of the Tumbulgum   Public School Government Ministers, and said that she   felt honoured to be invited to the assembly, and looked   forward to presenting the Instruments of Office.
  Ms. Buchanan brought with her some Olympic Games
  memorabilia which kept her audience spell-bound.

Ministers - 2007 - Making a Difference

In March, 2007, an Assembly was held to present student-elected Tumbulgum Public School Government Ministers with their badges and other Instruments of Office. As you can see, from the photograph at right, this was a major School Assembly requiring whole school attendance.
Mrs Tolhurst welcomed to the school the Guest of Honour, Ms. Sharon Buchanan, OAM, former Captain of the Australian Womens Hockey Team, and Olympic Gold Medalist.
